Fig. 1. High-resolution 2-D analysis of total protein extracted from storage roots of two cultivars of sweet potatoes with contrasting low temperature tolerance during storage. The proteins were first separated on IPG strips (pH 4-7), following which SDS-PAGE was performed on 13.0% polyacrylamide gels. Gels were stained with colloidal CBB. Spot numbers indicate proteins that were differentially expressed in Xushu 15-1 (with high cold storage tolerance) and Xushu 15-4 (with low cold storage tolerance). Red arrows indicate spots expressed in both Xushu 15-1 and Xushu 15-4 during low temperature storage, while black arrows indicate spots specific to Xushu 15-4 during low temperature storage. Ten gels per biological replicate were assessed
