Fig. 4. DPPH radical scavenging activity of ethanol extracts and fractions from Castanea crenata inner shell. The DPPH radical scavenging activity was measured using an ESR spectrophotometer. Graph and ESR spectra indicate the DPPH radical scavenging effect of (A) ascorbic acid, (B) 70% ethanol extracts, (C) hexane fractions, (D) chloroform fractions, (E) ethyl acetate fractions, (F) butanol fractions, and (G) water fractions. Meanwhile, (H) indicates the RC50 value of DPPH radical scavenging activity. Data were expressed as mean ± standard deviation (n = 3). Different letters indicate significant differences at p < 0.05 using Duncan's multiple range test
